Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Do you have showers at Omashu Wellness?
Yes — showers are available at the studio. If you’d like to use them after your massage, just bring your own towel.
The facilities are located in the shared yoga changing rooms downstairs, so please note you’ll need to walk through a common area to access them.
2. Should I arrive early for my appointment?
Please arrive on time — not early, as the door may be closed between yoga classes. Arriving early may not allow you to enter. We'll open the door for you at the start of your appointment.
3. What’s your cancellation policy?
Life happens — but as a small, single-practitioner practice, missed appointments have a real impact.
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. You can do this via the reschedule link in your confirmation email or by emailing me directly.
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will forfeit the deposit.
-
No-shows will be charged the full fee.
That said, if you're unwell or navigating something unexpected, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll always aim to meet your situation with flexibility and care.
4. What should I expect during my massage session?
Your massage begins with a short welcome and check-in to understand how you're feeling and what you'd like to focus on. You'll have time to ask questions, share preferences, and get comfortable before the treatment begins.
After your massage, you'll have a few minutes to slowly get up, re-dress, and enjoy a glass of water.
While the massage itself is 60, 90, or 120 minutes long, the total time you'll spend in the studio is typically a bit longer (up to 30 minutes more).
5. Can I request a specific pressure or avoid certain areas?
Yes — your comfort is key. You're always welcome to let us know if you'd like more or less pressure, or if there are areas you'd prefer to skip (like feet, glutes, hair, or face). Otherwise, I’ll work intuitively, following your body’s cues and focusing on where tension shows up.
6. Can I talk during the massage?
Some people like to chat, others prefer silence — both are welcome. Most clients settle into quiet after the first few minutes, but we'll follow your lead.
7. What if I fall asleep?
That's perfectly fine. It means your nervous system is relaxing, and your body is receiving what it needs.
8. Will you touch my face or hair during the massage?
Yes, gentle face and scalp massage is often included. If you'd prefer to skip these areas (or any others), just let us know — your comfort is our priority.
9. What should I wear to my massage?
Wear comfortable clothing that you can easily remove. You'll undress to your comfort level and will be properly draped for privacy throughout the session.
10. How long should I wait after my massage before planning another activity?
Massage is most effective when you allow your body time to integrate the experience. We suggest not scheduling anything strenuous or time-sensitive immediately after your session. A 60-minute treatment may take up to 90 minutes, including time for consultation and transition.
13. Can I plan my massage around yoga or sport?
Yes — massage can be a great complement to your workout or yoga practice.
-
Before activity: If you're planning to exercise after your massage, we'll keep the work lighter and more invigorating — using faster strokes to warm up the muscles without leaving you too relaxed or sleepy.
-
After activity: If you're coming post-workout or post-yoga, let us know — we'll take a gentler, slower approach focused on recovery, easing soreness, and helping your muscles rest and repair.
Let us know what your day looks like, and we'll tailor your session to support it.
14. Can I feel sore after a massage?
Yes, it's possible to feel a little sore the next day — especially if we worked deeply. This should fade within a day or so. Always feel free to reach out if you have questions or concerns.
15. Why is it important to stay hydrated after a massage?
Massage helps stimulate circulation and lymphatic flow, which can support your body's natural detox processes. Drinking water afterward helps you feel your best and supports recovery.
16. How often should I get a massage?
This depends on your goals, lifestyle, and budget. For general maintenance and stress relief, once or twice a month is ideal. If you're dealing with tension, injury recovery, or athletic training, weekly sessions may be more helpful initially.
17. How do I pay for my massage?
You’ll pay a deposit online when booking, and the remaining balance is due at your appointment. You can pay the rest by card, bank transfer, or exact cash — please note that no change is available.

If you’ve purchased a bundle or received a gift card, no payment is required at the time of booking.
18. Is Omashu Wellness a safe and inclusive space?
Absolutely. Everyone is welcome here — regardless of gender, background, body type, or experience with massage. Omashu Wellness is an inclusive space for calm, care, and connection.
(Please note: the building has stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.)
19. Is Omashu Wellness wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, no — due to multiple stairs, the space is not currently accessible by wheelchair.
20. Is massage safe for everyone?
Massage is generally very safe and beneficial, but it’s important that you let us know about any injuries, medical conditions, allergies, or recent changes to your health before your session. Some conditions may require adjustments to treatment or a doctor's note.

Please note: While every care is taken during your treatment, Omashu Wellness is not liable for any adverse effects that occur if medical information has not been disclosed in advance.
21. Do you offer massage during or after pregnancy?
Yes — gentle massage can be very supportive during pregnancy and postpartum. We’re happy to accommodate pregnancy massage in the earlier stages, but please note that we don’t have the specialized equipment for side-lying or late-term treatments.

If you're pregnant or have recently given birth, let us know when booking so we can make sure your treatment is comfortable and appropriate.
22. Is there a weight limit for the massage table?
For safety reasons, the massage table has a working weight limit of 190 kg, which includes body weight plus the pressure applied during treatment.
If you're unsure whether this applies to you or have questions, please feel free to reach out — we're happy to discuss it privately and respectfully.
23. What's the connection between Omashu Wellness and Ekah Yoga?
Omashu Wellness operates from within ekah yoga studio. While we share the same beautiful space, we are separate businesses. You can book a massage through Omashu and attend yoga classes through ekah — both experiences complement each other beautifully for whole-body wellness.
We love being part of the ekah community — it's a peaceful, welcoming space that reflects everything we value at Omashu Wellness. We wholeheartedly recommend trying a class; the teachers are warm, skilled, and truly supportive.
